Assassin's Creed Introduces Surprising AoT Collaboration for Thanksgiving

In a bizarre collaboration that defies traditional predictions, Ubisoft has unveiled an in-game crossover between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the popular anime series Attack on Titan. The surprising Thanksgiving event operates from November 25 through December 22, offering free extra story content for Shadows players.

Peculiar Adventure Uncovered

According to the official announcement, "A mysterious encounter pulls heroes Naoe and Yasuke into a new mission, where rumors of prohibited rituals and fearsome transformations resonate through the obscurity." The plot introduces a "strangely dressed woman named Ada" who charges the duo with journeying into the Gemstone Grotto—a important location from Attack on Titan—to rescue her companion from a clandestine sect.

The mission focuses on "bizarre tests and a monstrous enemy" and is open to all players who have gained access to the Yasuke character.

Familiar Settings and Changes

The trailer features the Underground Chapel from Attack on Titan reimagined as the Crystal Cave. This historic location was previously where the Reiss royal family passed down the Founding Titan ability through ages. The teaser concludes with a dramatic sequence showing a character, probably the hostage, morphing into a Titan that looms over Naoe and Yasuke.

Unique Prizes and Additional Material

Players who finish the adventure will obtain an unique katana together with multiple objects concealed throughout the area in concealed chests. The update also includes purchasable Attack on Titan item packs, including:

• Mikasa outfit for Naoe
• Unique implements
• Survey Corps steed

Newest Free Story Update

This release also introduces the game's newest free story content, titled "A Puzzlement." This lighthearted mission teams Naoe and Yasuke as they exchange distinctive abilities: Naoe reveals a dramatic variation of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke learns non-fatal stealth takedowns. Faithful to its name, "The Enigma" also contains a fresh environmental puzzle that may eventually clarify some lingering questions from the main storyline.

This represents hardly the initial time the Assassin's Creed franchise has crossed over with famous anime franchises. The series previously included a 2020 crossover story connecting Assassin's Creed: Valhalla with Makoto Yukimura's Vinland Saga. Furthermore, Valhalla informally featured a quest that unmistakably referenced the well-known series One-Punch Man.
